Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet City needs or operational requirements.
Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position.
Requires the application of elementary principles of library and information sciences.
Work schedules require Saturday rotation, and may include evening rotations.
Other duties may be assigned.
Job Summary Develop and present school-age programs, lessons, workshops and outreach events.
Serve as backup for other grade-level programs, collection development, teen volunteer management and other youth services responsibilities.
Responsible for receiving new youth materials for the collection.
Works under the supervision of the children's and teen services librarians, and plays an integral role in the library's youth services team, to successfully implement public services, policies, procedures and programs in accordance with the library's mission.
Monitors the condition of the children's department.
Provides reference and reader's advisory services to all library users, with a focus on services to children, teens, parents and teachers.
Strong focus on children's programming and literature, customer service, technology experience and team work.
Requires the application of elementary principles of library and information sciences.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
