75 an hour JOB PURPOSE:
Answer communications center phone calls and dispatch forPolice, Fire, Maintenance, and Operations departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Monitor security checkpoint, duress alarm, and dispatch law enforcement officer if needed.
Monitor and maintain the TSAR 1542 Access Control System to include:
Acknowledge alarms.
Dispatch law enforcement officers.
Make calls for service when needed.
Maintain required records, and logs.
Monitor CCTV; maintain audio and video recording equipment.
Take telephone/radio requests from airport tenants/employees for service requests.
Maintain communication logs.
Answer airport telephone lines when transferred to the Communications Center.
Exercise strict confidentiality of information involving all airport matters.
Monitors fire alarm device for terminal building.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations - Strong conflict management skills to handle difficult callers or situations - Familiarity with medical terminology and first aid procedures is a plus - Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols is beneficial - Proficient in data entry and using phone systems effectively - Familiarity with GPS and GIS systems for location tracking and analysis - Ability to analyze information quickly and make informed decisions - Experience with phone triage is a plus Note:

KNOWLEDGE:
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by previous experience with telephone or radio communications operations; or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Knowledge of and skill in the operations of telephone, radio, and alarm communications equipment.
Ability to learn the operation of computer terminals and related information systems equipment.
Ability to learn the practices, procedures, and requirements of public safety communications work.
Ability to learn the geography of the airport, including location of runways, taxiways, aprons, streets, important buildings, or areas requiring professional police and/or fire protection services.
Ability to think and act quickly and appropriately in emergencies and high stress situations.
Ability to elicit important information from callers who may be upset or very emotional.
Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
Ability to work in an environment with some stress and frequent interruptions.
Ability to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed.
Ability to work day, night, and overnight shifts, as well as holidays and weekends.
