It represents one point of contact with our customers for selling teams, customer service, distribution, retail merchandising and professional detailing. The Director of Customer Development oversees a cross-functional team of individuals that include Sales, Logistics, Finance, IM, Customer Service and, in some cases Marketing, to leverage the collective J&J Consumer Companies with our Top 10 Customers. The DCD influences decision making at the customer and Company(s) levels, and accomplishes key goals and objectives by working through others who have no direct reporting relationship to the DCD. The DCD often serves as a change agent within the CFT or at the customer, driving and instituting strategies that enhance collaborative efforts of J&J companies and devising innovative strategies/solutions that result in increased sales, profit and/or business productivity.
The DCD is integral to the development of skills of team members. Defining and clarifying roles, often in an environment where roles may compete, serving as a coach and mentor to team members and assisting team members in understanding how variances within J&J Op. Cos. impact the business, are all key accountabilities of the role. The DCD participates in the performance evaluation and development process by providing formal input to reporting Directors or VPs.
The DCD is responsible for the following. Achieve customer Business Plans/Scorecard Goals, which may be customer specific, but can include: Forecast; POS growth; Brand/Share growth; Reverse distribution; On-time delivery of product; Controlled out-of-stocks; Partner in 1-2 key categories, with goal of attaining Category Leadership. Provide One J&J Voice Leadership to both the customer and J&J through business advancement: Achieve advanced relationships across cross-functional disciplines; Leverage J&J Companies for full advantage, all levels, broad scope in volume and cost reduction. Demonstrate leadership in directing the Customer Focus Team: Lead goal attainment; Champion, coordinate and manage team resources; Devise communication processes; Champion, manage all key customer initiatives; Champion, manage all J&J Family of Company initiatives. Deliver value and business results for J&J Companies and customer by maximizing return on investment of resources. Achieve safety objectives (i.e., SAFE Fleet, lost workdays, ergonomics, etc.). Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
A minimum of a 4-year degree in Business, Marketing or related field is required. A minimum of 12 years prior experience in a consumer products company required, with 5 or more of these years in direct customer sales required. Must have experience with high volume key account and/or large mass retailers. Cross functional experience is a plus. Previous people management experience is required. This role will require travel, up to 25% of the time and be based in Bentonville, AR.
Must have the ability to prioritize and to manage multiple priorities successfully. Ability to work in a complex, matrix environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist. Ability to successfully negotiate internally and externally to align competing needs at high levels across dotted line relationships. Knowledge of principles of management and training & development systems. Proven ability to negotiate successfully and to resolve challenge and conflict arising out of everyday business situations and competing needs across dotted line reporting relationships. Must have strong computer skills, including web applications, MS Office and sales database applications per computer proficiency standards.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
