General Summary:
The Category Manager - Walmart/Sam's provides strategic category management for an assigned Category at Walmart/Sam's. Responsibilities include working to deliver the most effective category, shopper, and channel-specific insights to drive category growth at Walmart/Sam's. In addition, the Category Manager - Walmart/Sam's is responsible for developing a communication strategy to implement key research insights into business plans at the customer level.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and tactical recommendations to Walmart/Sam's buyers on the Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing to improve category performance.
Responsible for generating and designing compelling category, shopper, and consumer insights.
Develop strong working relationships with Walmart/Sam's buyers and cross functional partners
Assists in the modular relay process including the drawing of modulars
Interacts with cross-functional teams to provide strategic actionable insights based on market data analysis and insights.
Assists in development of recommendations for senior-level briefings on market dynamics
Develops communication strategy to implement key research insights into business plans at the customer level.
Participates in joint business planning development and the category management function based on insights.
Provides input into customer planning cycle based on knowledge of category and shopper trends, competitive issues, etc.
Job Complexity:
Works with cross-functional groups including the customer, customer team, and World HQ resources.
Understands the unique characteristics and challenges of various retail channels and their implications and opportunities for Campbell's categories and their impact on the Walmart/Sam's businesses.
Ensures continuous skill building within the function through the introduction of new tools and practices to attain and maintain thought leadership in the category management discipline.
Creative and skilled in using non traditional ways to get data and insights for channels and businesses that are limited in data from traditional means.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree, business discipline preferred
Years of relevant experience: 3+ years CPG/Retail industry experience
Knowledge, skills and abilities preferred:

2+ years Category Management experience

Knowledge of the Walmart Modular Process strongly preferred (Preferably on Edibles and/or Consumables)

IRI and/or Nielsen required (Advanced Panel/Scanner data applications and software navigation)

JDA knowledge strongly preferred
Technical Skills (ProSpace, Excel, Access, etc)

Category, Consumer, & Shopper Knowledge (Kantar, Mintel, etc.)

This position works in a customer team office . Due to the nature of the position, modular work may require manual labor and heavy lifting not to exceed 30 pounds. Approximately 10-20% travel may be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
