The Garden division of Central Garden & Pet (NASDAQ:CENT), a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn and garden supplies markets, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Walmart Business Development team located in Bentonville, AR. The Business Development Manager reports to the Central Garden Group's Director of Sales on the Walmart BDT.
This position's primary responsibility is to drive store level execution of all Central Garden and Pet Lawn and Garden programs. The position will be responsible for developing relationships with Walmart's operation's team including key Store Managers, Market Managers and Regional Managers. The position will also serve as the liaison between the Central Garden and Pet Walmart team and Central Garden and Pet's merchandising service team, communicating strategy, tactics and monitoring performance. This individual will play a key role in developing "Store of the Community" (SOTC) strategies and leading their implementation, in the highly regional, Lawn and Garden category. The position will make 'fact based' presentations to Walmart's Buying team, outlining SOTC opportunities and securing support in pursuing. This position will also be responsible for managing our items on , including insuring all our items are on the .com website and the corresponding content is correct.

Manage the sales, POS and forecasting information for SOTC programs across all Walmart regions
Identify issues and recommend resolution with corresponding communication plan
Provide communication and support back to the marketing teams
Develop, recommend and manage annual business plan growth and listings initiatives
The position requires a good degree of product knowledge and understanding of climatic zone variability for the different Lawn and Garden products.
Should be adept at managing the annual "sales cycle" process.
Solid fundamental knowledge of seasonal retail activities and issues is important.
Process understanding and fact-based analysis interpretation are essential.
People and customer management skills - especially problem solving - is very important.
Ability to identify (potential) problems and propose their solutions in a clear concise way is essential.
Requires strong original thinking, creative problem solving and attention to detail
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, MBA preferred
Minimum 3 years of consumer products sales to Walmart.
Experience in dealing with Walmart's operations team including Store Managers, Market Managers and Regional Managers.
Ability to interpret analysis and translate into action recommendations is a must.
Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills are critical.
Intermediate computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint are necessary
Experience with Walmart's Retail link system is required.
Familiarity with Shiloh and SAP platforms is a plus.
Ability to travel; heavy travel required during the Winter and Spring seasons

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
