General Summary The Senior Analyst will support the sales and customer marketing functions at the Walmart Business Development Team (BDT). In addition, the analyst will support BDT leadership with decision support analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of quantitative analytical skills, creativity, and Scotts business knowledge. We are seeking someone with demonstrated initiative, time management skills, flexibility, and ability to interact effectively with multiple business functions.
Key Work Performed
Customer Marketing Support: Track and report trade programs internally and to Walmart. Assist with various program analytics. Provide ground level business knowledge and insights to enhance effectiveness of business plans being developed.
Sales/Finance Support: Assist with the sales and expense forecasting processes, sales results analysis, business plan analytics, and other projects as assigned. Provide insight into financial performance and analyze the BDT P&L. Clearly communicate results to the BDT and Marysville.
Continuous Improvement: Become an expert in Vision Chain, BW and other SMG systems. Proactively find ways to streamline business processes and improve efficiency.
Decision Support: Provide analytics, both quantitative & qualitative, to support various business decisions and business development opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
4 year College degree, preferably in business administration, with concentration in accounting or finance.
Experience:
Business experience in finance and/or analytics in either a retail or consumer products manufacturing environment. Preferred but not mandatory; systems experience using SAP, BW, and Vision Chain. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite due to the amount of time spent analyzing data, extremely strong computer skills are required in Excel. Previous experience working with sales is preferred.
Knowledge:
Seasonality of Lawn & Garden industry trends by region. Supply chain processes and procedures within a Manufacturing CPG company
Should have a working knowledge of the retail environment including key performance indicators of retailers
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and statistical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access
Able to work effectively cross-functionally within the organization
Able to manage multiple tasks at the same time
Strong initiative and results-oriented
