Qualification Requirements:
o Education: No degree required; but trade school or vocational certification a plus.
o
Experience: 2
years' experience preferred with car dealerships a plus
o Must have a current driver's license
o Must be dependable, highly motivated, and able to meet demands of the position
o Ability to work overtime as needed.
o Ability to effectively communicate, be a functional resource to others, and work well with others.
o Superior customer service skills are required
o Must adhere to safety procedures
o Reliable, self-motivated, honest, punctual, professional and flexible attitude
Basic Functions:
Superior Automotive Group seeks a qualified candidates for the Automotive Technician positions available at our NWA and Central Arkansas locations to support our growing business needs. A successful candidate must have superior customer service skills, excellent work ethic, motivated to be successful and team centric. Additionally, a successful candidate will have superior ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This position is responsible for a wide array of duties to help keep a vehicle operational. This includes changing oil, rotating tires, repairing engines, replacing spark plugs, air filters, and brake pads. The work is completed in company garages, show rooms, dealerships, and use multiple tools to complete the tasks; diagnostic, hand tools and more. This position reports to the Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
o Excellent listening skills are critical to the success of this individual, paying close attention to the customer in order to make the proper
o Able to follow direction on blueprints for completing repairs
o Must be analytical, reliable, resilient, and capable of problem solving
o Operate diagnostic equipment
o Strong technical skills
o Testing to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly
o Isolating the systems or components that might have caused the problem
o Driving the vehicle for testing purposes or using various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges or diagnostic computers
o Maintaining efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
o Repairing or replacing worn parts ahead of the vehicle's breakdown or damage
o Following a checklist in ensuring that, they examine each critical part of the vehicle
o Watching or inspecting closely parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems brakes, and other possible troublesome items
o Using power tools like pneumatic wrenches in order to remove bolts easily and quickly
o Using machine tools, such as grinding machines and lathes to rebuild brakes
o Using common hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, to work on small scale parts
o Excellent communication skills and concern for the customer
Physical Skills:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently; require sitting for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping. Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity required. Strong ability to communicate. Punctuality is a must.
