Senior Manager, Cloud Operations

Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology.
Manages a team supporting and/or implementing software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas or sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Successful track record in applications implementation and as a manager. Expert knowledge of all applications within a business area; plus some knowledge of other applications. BA/BS degree preferred.

This is aHANDS-ON, HIGHLY TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP role that will be instrumental in thecontinuous improvement of Cloud Operations. The successful candidate musthave the ability to think in both a tactical and strategic manner to deliverscalable and efficient solutions. Thesuccessful candidate MUST have existing, real-world experience with Python,automation frameworks (i.e. Salt, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.), Linux, andother similar technologies. If you veonly used these tools on your own laptop sandbox, then this isn t a good fitfor you. You must also have existingleadership and management experience, however this is NOT a purely managementrole. The candidate hired for this rolewill also be expected to contribute technically to the team s objectives.
Thesuccessful candidate may join at either a Manager, Senior Manager, orDirector-level, at the hiring manager s discretion depending on qualifications.
Tobe successful in this role, at a minimum you ll need to possess:
2 years technical leadership experience in a DevOpsenvironment, where you ve personally written significant code using Python, andalso operated actual production platforms
2 years management experience for small, highly technicalteams, preferably in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering environment
Existing experience recruiting, hiring, and developingDevOps talent
Current hands-on coding and operations experience
2 years experience managing a 24x7 operational team
3 years experience developing in Python on Linux platforms
3 years Experience with automation frameworks (i.e. Salt,Chef, Ansible, Puppet, CFEngine, etc.)
5 years of detailed technical experience with Linux command-line environments in a production environment
In-depth understanding of complex, large-scale architecture
Experience working closely with development teams
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Experience working in an extremely fast-paced and challenging environment
Excellent command of written and spoken English

ThisDevOps leadership role will be a member of one of the newer teams within SaaSCloud Operations and is tasked with building and deploying a global, scalableautomation platform for several of our largest, most-complex enterprise cloudapplications. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for managinga small team of engineers, managing and improving existing tools, proposing andimplementing new tools, and implementing/integrating with tools designed anddeveloped by other teams.

Contributing to the development and operations of our next generation cloud automation platform
Integration, deployment, and operations of various open-source tools
Work with existing team members to provide operational support cloud automation platforms
Development of new tools to solve business problems
Leading and managing small technical teams
Mentoring and developing technical staff
_Preferred Qualifications:_
Experience supporting cloud platforms
Software design experience
Experience in agile DevOps teams
Experience working at startups and large Internet companies
Expert-level technical experience with Salt, Puppet, MCollective, Chef, CFEngine, or other automation tools
Experience with very large-scale platforms (>10,000 hosts)
Expertise in implementing scalable and distributed systems
Experience with other development languages
Ability to articulate complex requirements to other teams
Operations experience in a data center. Understand network topologies, IT processes, and deployment architectures (e.g. layout of resources within a data center)
Ability to work in a matrix organization with virtual teams
Ability to understand the big picture, while having the technical depth to complete complex tasks independently
BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent, with a solid foundation in complex software system design
Previous experience supporting U.S. government clients
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies we use SCRUMBAN

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
