The Business Leadership Program (BLP) is a two year, three-rotation accelerated leadership development program within one of 10 functional tracks (Credit, Data Analytics, Enterprise Operations, Finance, HR, Internal Audit, IT, Marketing, Risk Management, Sales & Relationship Management). The rotational assignments empower participants to build deep, functional expertise within a specific track while empowering and challenging you to develop broad based industry and business acumen. One of the ways this is done is through our sponsorship of two, month-long cross-functional, customer experiences designed to expose you to different areas of our business.
While on program, you will work alongside and learn from experienced professionals who will challenge you to develop your skills in an accelerated work environment. In addition, we believe all Synchrony Financial team members should understand the value of giving back. That's why BLP participants will have the option to complete a program sponsored, one-month community service project.

Risk Management BLP Career Track Description:
As the gatekeepers of the company, your experience in Risk Management will allow you to insert your key and open the door to numerous areas of the business. Participants will learn and support varying aspects of our business and their associated risks, working to measure and monitor those risks. A Risk Management BLP Career Track member will learn and be exposed to both the qualitative and quantitative sides of risk management and will learn how we identify, measure, monitor and control risk in our business. As part of the program, participants will work closely with business partners as they learn and support varying facets of our risk management organization, including:
Credit Risk
Operational Risk
Market and Liquidity Risk
Strategic Risk
Model Risk
This comprehensive program consists of on-the-job experience gained through multiple rotations that provide an opportunity to work in real-life, real-time business environments. The program provides successful graduates with the strong foundation of skills and experiences they need to grow their careers and position themselves for future leadership roles in Risk Management.

Our programs begin before you even leave campus! We fly all accepted program participants, from campus, to Sync-Up ? an exclusive, three-day pre-program experience where you'll interact with Synchrony Financial leaders, learn about our business and, most importantly, meet and engage with other soon-to-be BLPs and BLP-Interns.
Relocation
Your BLP assignment with Synchrony Financial may not be close to home (how exciting!). And that's one of the leaps we'll expect you take. But we've got your back (and your moving van). We offer a full suite of relocation benefits to get you to your next assignment if it lands you more than 50 miles from your permanent address. We'll help with expenses for house hunting, lease cancellation, temporary housing, shipping and storage, auto shipping in some cases, and airfare.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics finance/financial engineering, credit risk management, business, banking or relevant major
Academic excellence with financial, quantitative and analytical competency
Excellent academic record ? Minimum overall 3.0 GPA or higher
Geographic mobility

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
If currently a Synchrony Financial Employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 6 months (AP) or 24 months (level 8 or greater), have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have the approval of your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR to apply if you don't meet the time-in-job or performance requirement

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
