The BLP-Internship is a challenging 10- to 12-week program for students who are looking to get a critical jumpstart in one of 10 different careers (Credit, Data Analytics, Finance, HR, Internal Audit, IT, Marketing, Enterprise Operations, Risk Management, Sales & Relationship Management). Based in locations across the country, an internship with Synchrony Financial will introduce you to some of the brightest minds in business, giving you the opportunity work alongside and learn from experienced professionals who will challenge you to develop your skills in an accelerated work environment.
During your internship experience, you'll engage with your peers across tracks, travel to participate in a comprehensive orientation, engage our leadership during our Summer Series and represent our company at volunteer projects in the communities where we live and work.

Risk Management BLP-Internship Description:
This internship is for students who are looking to get a critical jump start on a career in Risk Management. A Risk Management BLP-Intern be exposed to both the qualitative and quantitative sides of risk management and will learn how we identify, measure, monitor and control risk in our business.
As part of the program, risk management interns will collaborate with business partners to learn about all facets of our risk management organization, including:
Credit Risk
Operational Risk
Market and Liquidity Risk
Strategic Risk
Model Risk
The internship will be spent working side-by-side with risk management professionals across Synchrony Financial's business. Experience within risk management can help accelerate a career and assist participants in developing the skills needed to be successful in a cutting edge global environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed your sophomore or junior year pursuing Bachelors in accounting, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics finance/financial engineering, credit risk management, business, banking or relevant major
Excellent academic record ? Minimum overall GPA 3.0 or higher
Geographic mobility
Available for a minimum of 10- to 12-consecutive weeks
Must be able to work minimum of 40 hours/week.

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
If currently a Synchrony Financial Employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 6 months (AP) or 24 months (level 8 or greater), have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have the approval of your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR to apply if you don't meet the time-in-job or performance requirement

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
