Quality & Food Safety Manager - Dairy Upstreaming

Position Description
This position is for Dairy Quality Control.
Develops, implements, and maintains quality and food safety standards, policies, controls, and guidelines for the plant to be
GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) certified (for example, traffic control of plant, product testing, food safe equipment) by
evaluating data from food safety and health audits, regulatory inspections, trade journals and scientific literature to identify areas
of focus; partnering with stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues, and reduce occurrence of food safety and quality
risks; communicating trends and data regarding quality and food safety issues; serving as a subject matter expert for quality and
food safety; and collaborating with stakeholders (for example, regulatory agencies, plant leadership to reduce food safety and
health risks and enhance compliance and product quality.
Ensures plants meet quality and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) food safety standards by collaborating with cross-functional
teams to conduct an in-depth review of the manufacturing process; leading the routine testing and analysis of incoming and
outgoing products; evaluating quality and food safety reports to identify trends (for example, laboratory report, production reports,
compliance with regulatory standards); leading investigations, including root cause analysis, into incidents, quality issues, and
complaints; partnering with plant quality assurance and leadership teams to resolve quality and food safety incidents, issues,
and complaints; providing response summaries and action points to assigned teams to address issues and conducting follow up
to verify that issues have been corrected; partnering across the plant and organization to ensure quality and food standards are
incorporated in training and processes; and partnering with plant sanitation leader to monitor, validate, and trend CIP
(cleaned-in-place)/COP (cleaned-out-place) system performance and processes.
Oversees the execution of projects for ensuring quality and food safety by identifying customer and operational needs; developing
and communicating business plans and priorities; working with stakeholders to improve performance; identifying performance
standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting
continuous learning.
Improves overall customer experience by soliciting customer feedback; monitoring quality performance and customer feedback;
coordinating with internal departments and external sources of information about quality improvements; identifying best course of
action based on feedback; incorporating improvements into products that improve quality concerns; verifying actual performance
against reported performance on a case-by-case basis; and monitoring improvements for long-term benefit.
Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and
communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources;
identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans;
and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties;
building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations;
providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and
providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open
Door Policy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Public Health, or related field and 4 years' experience in food safety or quality assurance, including HACCP and QA auditing food establishments/facilities in food manufacturing, or related field .
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Public Health, or related field.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
