IT Principal Consultant, Cloud Operations

Work with Oracle s world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle s global infrastructure.
As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems.

ThisDevOps role will be a member of one of the newer teams within SaaS CloudOperations and is tasked with building and deploying a global, scalableautomation platform for several of our largest, most-complex enterprise cloudapplications. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for managingand improving existing tools, proposing and implementing new tools, andimplementing/integrating with tools designed and developed by otherteams. The ideal candidate will also already have significant, hands-onexperience building, maintaining, and operating tools that support large-scale,production environments. This particularrole will be responsible for the development and operations of new tools inPython and integrating them with Salt as well as rewriting a variety of shellscript-based tools in Python.
This is a HIGHLY TECHNICAL role that will be instrumental in the continuousimprovement of Cloud Operations. The successful candidate must have theability to think in both a tactical and strategic manner to deliver scalableand efficient solutions. The successfulcandidate MUST have existing, real-world experience with Python, automationframeworks (i.e. Salt, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.), Linux, and other similartechnologies. If you ve only used thesetools on your own laptop sandbox, then this isn t a good fit for you.

_Areas of Focus:_
Contributing to the development and operations of our next generation cloud automation platform
Integration, deployment, and operations of various open-source tools
Work with existing team members to provide operational support cloud automation platforms
Development of new tools to solve business problems
_Minimum Qualifications:_
5 years of detailed technical experience with Linux command-line environments in a production environment
In-depth understanding of complex, large-scale architecture
5 years of detailed technical experience with Python
Deep understanding of software development practices using Python
Experience with open-source automation platforms such as: Salt, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet/MCollective
Experience reading/writing Bash scripts
Experience with standard Linux utilities such as: sed, awk, editors, etc.
Experience integrating a variety of technical solutions
Experience working closely with development teams
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced and challenging environment
Ability to work in a matrix organization with virtual teams
Ability to understand the big picture, while having the technical depth to complete complex tasks independently
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Participation in an on-call rotation is required

_Preferred Qualifications:_
Experience supporting cloud platforms
Software design experience
Experience in agile DevOps teams
Experience working at startups and large Internet companies
Expert-level technical experience with Salt, Puppet, MCollective, Chef, CFEngine, or other automation tools
Experience with very large-scale platforms (>10,000 hosts)
Expertise in implementing scalable and distributed systems
Experience with other development languages
Ability to articulate complex requirements to other teams
Operations experience in a data center. Understand network topologies, IT processes, and deployment architectures (e.g. layout of resources within a data center)
BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent, with a solid foundation in complex software system design
Previous experience supporting U.S. government clients
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
