Technical Support Engineer (DB2) (808-509)

The TSE II will be responsible for assisting customers with questions and problems regarding the installation, setup, configuration and functionality of software products. This person will interact with other technical support engineers, software developers, third party software vendors, customers and quality assurance engineers.
Goals and Objectives
Perform problem verification/ recreation based on customer?s environment, error messages, and symptoms of a problem.
Researching cases using knowledge bases, documentation etc.
Preparing and recommending solutions.
Working with development teams to review / improve documentation.
Required Skills
Experience with DB2 for z/OS.
Experience with either IBM?s DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS or IBM?s OMEGAMON XE for DB2 z/OS.
Knowledge of DB2 utilities and DB2 stored procedures a plus.
Ability to identify and complete tasks in a dynamic environment.
Ability to effectively work with customers to resolve problems.
Familiarity with electronic issue tracking systems.
REXX, z/OS JCL, ISPF, TSO.
SMP/E.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Required Experience
BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience.
DB2 for z/OS DBA or DB2 systems programming.
Technical Support Engineer or
Quality Assurance Engineer or
Applications Development.
5+ years with DB2 for z/OS.
2+ years in role of technical support and/or quality assurance and/or applications development.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
