The Walmart & Sam's Club International Academy was created to attract top, highly talented students who are interested in careers in International business. Due to Walmart & Sam's Clubs expanding global presence, there is an increased need for talented, highly trained individuals with a global mindset to work within our international corporate offices.
The International Academy includes up to one year of training in the Walmart & Sam's Club Home Offices in Bentonville, Arkansas and is designed to train and familiarize associates to the corporate side of retail operations. This dynamic training program will consist of classroom sessions, experience of store operations, one on one training time with a mentor experienced in the business, as well as managing subset of products that are currently selling in stores. After completion of the training portion of the leadership program, the associate will then transfer to either the China - Brazil - Mexico - Japan - Central American markets to assume a position within that country's corporate organization. The time spent at Walmart & Sam's Clubs corporate offices will equip the associate with a solid base of functional knowledge and practical skills that will be implemented in his/her new role in the emerging market. Due to the nature of the program, qualified students must be authorized to work in the United States for a minimum of one year from the starting date of the program and have unrestricted work authorization in either China - Brazil - Mexico -Japan - Central American markets. Because the International Academy is not an expatriate program, the career path does not lead back to the U.S. Alternatively, the career path is designed to empower you to help our customers live better as you start your life and career in an international market. Walmart & Sam's Club will not sponsor candidates for a visa or employment authorization in the United States or in the international market for this position. Candidates who are in the U.S. on a student visa may be eligible to work in the U.S. during the OPT (Optional Practical Training) portion of their student visa.
Job Description
Understanding and implementing the Walmart business model is the key to growth in the international markets. Our goal is to train associates in the corporate office for up to one year and then transfer them to their designated international location. As a member of the International Academy, you will work with either the Logistics - Merchandising - Replenishment - Marketing divisions.. Upon successful completion of the program in the U.S., you will be prepared to assume a critical role in the Walmart or Sam's Club organization in your designated international location. Your time spent training in the U.S. will provide you the knowledge and training necessary for you to excel in our international locations. Your understanding and execution of the Walmart business model will further increase our success and brand globally.
Logistic Leadership Program (LLP) Trainings & Responsibilities (Location: Bentonville to China or Japan)
Analyst
Develops databases and systems to support Logistics Engineering projects
Develops tools and reports to assist in decision making for Logistics Engineering projects (for example, heat index database, engineering standards)
Provides data-based insight to drive Logistics Engineering projects
Engineering Logistics
Analyzes and designs distribution center processes (for example, material flow, transportation)
Executes logistics engineering projects
Identifies and implements initiatives to reduce operating expenses within the supply chain
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's' degree in business, finance, retail management, logistics/supply chain, operations management, industrial engineering, or related field
3.0 GPA or higher
Unrestricted work authorization in either China or Japan
Authorization to work in the U.S. for at least one year from the start of the program
Fluency in English
Fluency in Japanese - Chinese
Additional Preferred Qualifications
3.5 GPA or higher
Master's degree, preferably from business or engineering school or MBA with retail business/supply chain operation background.
1-2 years previous work experience or more than 2 robust internships in retail, financial planning, category management, buying,
replenishment, logistics network planning, warehouse/stores operations or related field
Strong analytical, operational and computer skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Motivated to deliver high quality results
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Sound business acumen
Strong initiative to Microsoft Excel
High level of adaptability

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
