Manager, International Tax Planning

Position Description
Contribute to customer satisfaction by providing quality, timely and responsive services and work products. Supervise the work of tax department professionals.
Support the development of international tax planning strategies by developing business facts; researching tax rules; performing technical analysis; writing supporting memoranda; preparing tax technical quantification models; and developing PowerPoint transaction step plans.
Manage the execution of international tax planning by modeling, updating tax analysis, and working with tax leadership.
Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the business teams. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to customer situations.
Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare practical and effective approaches to customers' situations and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Share tax planning ideas with others as appropriate. Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas.
Develop work plans for approved projects, and manage projects through design and implementation. Work, communicate, and coordinate with outside advisors and internal stakeholders in proceeding toward timely and successful completion of projects.
Collaborate with other areas within Tax, including Compliance, Reporting, and Defense, as well as with Legal and with local-country tax teams outside the U.S.
Build customer relationships and demonstrate knowledge of the business.
Help develop and guide tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.
Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of customer relationships and related work products.
Contribute to the overall success of the team by keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.
Provide subject matter expertise by acting as a resource to other departments and divisions on United States taxes, international operations questions; serving as a tax liaison with Accounting, International Finance, Global Controllership, Treasury and other departments.
Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and support the Company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments for international tax planning by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet Customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and approximately 4 years' experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
3 years' experience in tax.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
3 years' experience in federal income taxation.
3 years' experience working in international tax (for example, compliance, provision, planning).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Bar license.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
