As part of the 8-week paid summer internship program, you will be given the opportunity to work as part of the Bentonville Sales team with specific project responsibilities, access to mentors, planned social events, and on-the-job training. You will also have the opportunity to work on high impact projects that directly impact the business through strategic Sales activities.
You will work with experienced supervisors who will provide guidance and counsel along the way. You will have cross functional exposure to multiple departments, learn about BIC and Walmart/SAMs, develop the ability to mine data and take key findings to create a selling story, and gain understanding of how to access and utilize analytical data to drive business results.
During the summer, your experience will be further enriched through social and professional networking opportunities, including intern activities and interaction with senior leadership and cross-functional team members. Project work, along with recommendations, will be documented in a formal report and/or presentation that will be presented to senior leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
As a Sales Intern with BIC, you will assist in projects/tasks relevant to the development and execution of Sales team core competencies and strategies. This may include being involved with the National Account Managers and Sales Analysts teams.
Specific projects/tasks may include but are not limited to:
Pull data from Walmart Retail Link/Shiloh and utilize to understand business trends
Analyze sales and market share data from IRI to understand business trends
Assist National Account Manager and Analytics team as support function
Weekly store checks and photos
Line review preparation
Develop selling stories using key data and analytics
Attend buyer meetings
Support National Account Managers and Sales Analysts throughout the internship
Review internship program as a whole and provide feedback in a formal presentation at end of the program
To qualify for our summer internship program, the following guidelines must be met:
Must be sophomore and above or graduation date must be within the last six months
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Strong math and analytical skill set
Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
Self-motivated and able to work independently and in team environments
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Results Driven
Involvement in extracurricular activities

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
